Miltown secured their senior status with victory over Kilmihil this evening in the relegation final in Doonbeg.

Kilmihil opened the scoring before Eoin Cleary pointed for Miltown which was quickly followed by a well worked Cormac Murray goal. Further points from Kieran Malone, Eoin Cleary and Conor Cleary extended the lead before Conor Cleary scored Miltown's second goal at the end of an excellent team move. This was quickly followed by Cormac's second goal and combined with points from Eoin Cleary, Micheal Murray and Kieran Malone ensured Miltown led at the break on a scoreline of 3-7 to 0-3 despite ten wides in the first half.

Eoin Cleary opened the scoring in the 2nd half before two quick fire Kilmihil goals, split by an Eoin Cleary point, reduced the deficit. This was quickly followed by a further point and two goals from Kilmihil to close the gap to two points. Sean Neylon scored a well taken point to extend Miltown's lead before Kilmihil scored their fifth goal to level with five minutes remaining. Cian Mahony and Conor Cleary traded points with Kilmihil before an Eoin Cleary point pushed Miltown ahead. This was quickly followed by an impressive team move which resulted in Cormac Murray finishing to the net for his hat trick. Two excellent Eoin Cleary points ensured Miltown prevailed on a scoreline of 4-15 to 5-6 despite a gallant Kilmihil comeback.
