Our Junior B side got the weekend off to a flying start with victory over Kilkee on Friday evening in warm conditions, thereby earning a place in the league final and gaining promotion to Division 4 for the 2027 season.
The home side hit the front with two points before Conor Neylon opened Miltowns account. The sides then traded points with Oisin Meade and Podge Deveraux finding the target before a Kilkee goal left three between the sides. Miltown finished the half strongly with scores from Paddy Greene (0-3) Conor Neylon and Podge Deveraux leaving two between the sides at the half time whistle on a scoreline of Miltown 0-8 Kilkee 1-3.
A kilkee goal opened the second half scoring but Miltown struck back with Damien Deveraux finding the back of the net. Another kilkee goal and a point sandwiched an Oisin Mccarthy point to leave kilkee leading by a single point. Miltown began to gain the upper hand as the half wore on and Paddy Greene added to his total with three points including a two point effort. The home side knocked over four points to regain the lead before a Paul Keane goal on 18 minutes and a point from Oisin McCarthy swung the game towards the visitors. Paul struck for his second goal of the game on 22 minutes quickly followed by another Paddy Greene point as Miltown ran out winners on a scoreline of 3-14 to 3-07 to setup a League final encounter with Lissycasey.
