Playing against a strong breeze in the first half, Miltown started well with the Clooney Quin goalkeeper stopping an early goal chance from Darragh Hogan. A late Clooney Quin goal as the half drew to a close ensured they led at half time on a scoreline of 1-2 to 0-1 with Ronan Keavey scoring his sides only point in the first half.

A well taken Dominic Griffin goal from a free was quickly followed by another Clooney Quin goal ensuring they continued to lead at the water break by 3. As Miltown pushed up chasing the match winning scores, a number of Colin Hayes saves and great defensive work from Niall Toomey ensured they stayed in touch. Points from Ralph Whelehan and Ronan Keavey were followed by Clooney Quin scores ensured the East Clare side emerged victorious on a scoreline of 2-7 to 1-5.

Miltown lined out as follows: Colin Hayes; Tony Carroll, Iarla Meade, Sean McMahon; Stephen Murphy, Niall Toomey, James Downes; Gavin Toomey and Ralph Whelehan; Conor Neylon, Ronan Keavey (c), Darragh Hogan; Dominic Griffin, Cian Cunningham, Eoin Devanney.
