The u14s bowed out of the u14 championship at the quarter final stage this evening with a seven point defeat against Eire Og in Lissycasey.

Miltown, under the management team of Declan Keavey, Maurice Reidy, Cathal O'Loughlin and David Talty, started well with early points from Darragh Hogan and Finlay Robertson. Eire Og rallied and took the lead with a number of points. Our u14s stayed in touch with a number of excellent points from Finlay Robertson, Dominic Griffin and Sean Hayes. The Ennis side continued to press on, scoring a goal as half time approached which ensured they lead at the break on a scoreline of 1-7 to 0-5.

Eire Og started the second half well with further points and pushed further ahead. Points from Darragh Hogan and Patrick Greene kept Miltown in striking distance however were unable to close the gap. Miltown continued to try hard and battled to the finish with further well taken scores from Seamus Honan, Sean Hayes and Ralph Whelehan. Despite Miltown's best efforts, Eire Og ran out deserving winners on a scoreline of 1-15 to 0-11.

Miltown lined out as follows: Colin Hayes; Niall Toomey, Tim Lenihan, Iarla Meade; Ronan Keavey, Cormac Byrne, John Maloney; Finlay Robertson and Ralph Whelehan; Gavin Toomey, Patrick Greene, Sean Hayes; Dominic Griffin, Cormac O'Loughlin, Darragh Hogan. Subs: Stephen Murphy, Caimin Jones, Seamus Honan.

Scorers were: Sean Hayes 0-3; Finlay Robertson and Darragh Hogan 0-2 each; Patrick Greene, Dominic Griffin, Seamus Honan and Ralph Whelehan 0-1 each.

Although the youthful side Miltown bow out at the quarter final stage, they can reflect on great improvements made since the Feile including a run of four consecutive victories in the championship group stage.
