Our Junior As fell to a defeat earlier today at home against Corofin.
Short a number of players, a youthful Miltown side took the field with Ger Malone opening the scoring for the home side. Corofin asserted their dominance with early points before points from Oisin Meade and Ger Malone. A Corofin goal extended their lead while Miltown spurned a goal chance which meant they trailed at the break on a scoreline of 1-5 to 0-3.
Miltown started the second half well with an impressive Damien Devereaux point which was quickly followed by an Oisin Meade point. The pivotal moment in the match came shortly after when Eanna O'Connor hit the post with a goal chance which would have levelled the game. Corofin extended their lead shortly after with two points of their own before a Patrick Greene free kept Miltown in touch. Corofin kicked two further points before a late Ger Malone point ensured Miltown fell to defeat on a scoreline of 1-9 to 0-7.
Miltown will be disappointed with their performance in front of goal spurning two goal chances together with thirteen wides and will look to improve on this in their next match in two weeks time.
