Miltown u17s started their year off on Friday night when they took on Cooraclare in the first match of their league.
After a slow start in which Cooraclare took a 1-5 to no score lead. Miltown via the boots of Eoin Devenney and Iarla Meade scored two goals before Cian Cunningham added on a point to bring Miltown back into the game with a late score in the half. This ensured they trailed at the break on a scoreline of 2-1 to 1-6.
Cooraclare started the second half well by getting the opening score before Miltown took control with scores from Dominic griffin and Eoin Devanney.
Unfortunately Miltown couldn’t get the leveling score and after a valiant effort in the second half, emerged on the wrong side of the result losing by 2 points with a score of 2-9 to 2-7. They will now move into the shield quarter final draw.
