A very sad day for our Club as we mourn the passing of John Reidy, a cornerstone of St.Josephs Miltown GAA.
John epitomised everything that the GAA stands for, Family, Club and Community were the pillars of his life and he worked tiredlessly for all.
John represented the club with determination and pride whether it was as a player, trainer, manager, selector or administrator and was always there for advice or a trip through the history of the club, no game was forgotten and his ability to tell a story would bring a smile to your face. His book chronicling the history of Miltown GAA brought the past to life for anyone who read it.
John was the driving force in the development of Hennessy Memorial Park, a first class pitch and stand will remain as testaments to John's drive, determination and ability to get things done and overcome any obstacles to bring his vision to reality.
John also served on a number of positions for Clare GAA throughout the years.
It was not only Miltown GAA that John left his mark on, the new Community Centre was John's final project and he approached that with the same determination and pride he had always shown, making sure that a world class facility is now available for the people of our Community.
Reposing at St Joseph's Church, Miltown Malbay from 5.30pm to 8pm today Monday with funeral mass at 12pm on Tuesday with burial after in Ballard Cemetery.
We send our heartfelt condolonces to Eilish, Maurice, Cathal, John's family and wide circle of friends.
He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all in Miltown GAA. Rest easy John.
