Our seniors fell to defeat yesterday when they lost to Doonbeg in the senior Relegation semi final.
Doonbeg started the brighter and led by four points before a Conor Cleary goal reduced the deficit. A goal from the Doonbeg men ensured they led at the break on a scoreline of 1-6 to 1-2.
Miltown tried hard and leveled the match halfway through the 2nd half however were unable to take the lead. As the match entered injury time, Doonbeg led by the minimum before an Eoin Cleary free sent the match to extra time.
As extra time started, Doonbeg started well and struck for an early goal before the Doonbeg goalkeeper made a fine save from Eoin Cleary to keep the ball out of his net. Miltown were unable to close the deficit and Doonbeg emerged victorious on a scoreline of 2-19 to 1-16.
Miltown now move into a relegation final in two weeks time which they must win to secure their senior status for 2023.
