Our Junior As fell to defeat today in Kilmihil against Lissycasey in their final group game.
Miltown started well with an early Ger Malone point. Further points from Ger Malone and Diarmuid O'Sullivan combined with two fine saves from Paul Tubridy kept Miltown in touch at half time as they trailed by the minimum on a scoreline of 0-4 to 0-3.
The game remained tight for the second half as Cillian Keavey traded points with Lissycasey to ensure Miltown trailed by a point as the game entered the final stages. Lissycasey showed their superior fitness as they kicked the final three points of the match to emerge victorious on a scoreline of 0-9 to 0-5.
Despite a much improved performance today, Miltown now await the result of the other group game between Clondegad and Cratloe later this evening to find out their fate and whether they will be dragged into a relegation play off.
