Our Junior A side was in action this afternoon in Kilmihil for their opening championship match against Cratloe.
The Juniors started very well and raced into an early 0-5 to 0-2 lead with an impressive attacking display with points from Euan Lineen, Eanna O'Connor, Colin McGuane and Cillian Keavey. Cratloe fought back and as half time approached, the sides were level before a Cillian Keavey point ensured Miltown led at the break on a scoreline of 0-6 to 0-5.
Cratloe started the 2nd half well and raced into an early lead before Euan Lineen powerfully finished to the net to put Miltown in front. Cratloe battled back and traded scores before David Cleary pointed for Miltown. A good team move involving Ger Malone and Cillian Keavey found Euan Lineen at the back post where he palmed to the net to push Miltown four clear. A strong defensive display in the final minutes limited Cratloe to only a solitary point which ensured Miltown prevailed on a scoreline of 2-8 to 0-11.
