Our seniors started their senior campaign off with a one point defeat last night to Corofin in Cusack Park.
The Corofin men started well and went into a 0-6 to 0-2 lead with Miltown points coming from Eoin and Conor Cleary. Further points from Cormac Murray, Cian Mahony and Darragh McDonagh ensured Miltown trailed at the break on a scoreline of 0-9 to 0-7.
Sean Neylon kicked the opening score of the 2nd half to reduce the deficit to the minimum before Corofin extended their advantage. Points from Eoin Cleary and and Cormac Murray kept Miltown in touch before a superb individual goal from Brian Curtin reduced the gap to a solitary point. Kieran Malone and Cormac Murray traded points with Corofin before a further point from Cormac ensured Miltown led by a point as the game entered injury time. Unfortunately Corofin finished with the game's two final points to emerge as winners on a scoreline of 0-18 to 1-14.
