Miltown 5-10 Clondegad 0-6
Our Junior B side made it three wins from three in their Division 7 league campaign with a hard fought victory over Clondegad in Ballynacally this afternoon.
Playing against a stiff breeze in heavy conditions Miltown started slowly and were a few points down after the opening exchanges. Three points from wing back Cillian Keavey kept Miltown in touch and an expertly finished goal from Tommy Flynn allied to two points from Des Molohan meant Miltown led at the break on a scoreline of 1-5 to 0-5 with it all to play for in the second half.
Miltown upped their performance levels in the second period and made good use the breeze at their backs to put the Clondegad defence under severe pressure. Cillian Keavey added to his tally of points with a fine score before it became the Des & Robbie scoring show with Des notching up 3-2 and substitute Robbie Healy adding an impressive 1-2 when introduced.
The Miltown defence stood firm in the second half limiting Clondegad to a solitary point from play to leave the final score Miltown 5-10 Clondegad 0-6
Next up for the lads is a trip to Lisdoonvarna on the May Bank Holiday weekend.
