Our Junior A team fell to a one point defeat against KIB at home tonight in their latest league match.

KIB went into an early lead before points from Sean McMahon and Ger Malone ensured the sides were level despite Miltown playing against a stiff breeze. KIB struck for a goal then before a Euan Lineen free reduced the deficit. Both sides traded scores with another Euan Lineen free for Miltown ensuring Miltown trailed at the break on a scoreline of 1-5 to 0-5.

KIB started the second half well with early points while Miltown were unable to convert their possession into scores. Points from Ger Malone and Euan Lineen reduced the deficit before substitute Paul Keane had an immediate impact as he expertly finished to the net for a goal for the home side. Shortly after, the KIB goalkeeper made an excellent close range save to deny Euan Lineen at the end of a well worked team move. As the game drew to a close, points from Euan Lineen and Ger Malone stretched Miltown's lead however three unanswered points from KIB meant they led by the minimum with the game in injury time. Miltown were denied a draw at the death when KIB substitute Seamus Murrihy pulled the ball down from over the crossbar from a Euan Lineen free to ensure KIB prevailed on a scoreline of 1-11 to 1-10.

Miltown lined out as follows: Paul Tubridy; Adam Burke, Cormac Devitt, Cormac Byrne; Cillian Keavey, Sean Neylon, Gearoid Burke; Paul Frawley and Ger Malone; Liam Hehir, Euan Lineen, Conall Meade; Diarmuid O'Sullivan, Sean McMahon, Damien Devereaux (captain). Subs: Joe Carmody, Paul Keane.

Scorers were: Ger Malone and Euan Lineen 0-4 each, Sean McMahon 0-2, Paul Keane 1-0.

Hard luck to all involved. Next up for the Junior A team is a home game against Liscannor on Monday 2nd May.
