Our u13s fell to two point defeat this evening away in Kilfenora versus Kilfenora/Liscannor/Michael Cusacks.
The Clann Lir side started well and went into an early lead with a quick goal followed by a point. Miltown steadied and points from Josh Flynn and Eamon Devanney reduced the deficit. Both sides traded points as the half drew to close with a long range point from Fergal Queally assisted by the aid of a stiff breeze meaning Miltown trailed by a point on a scoreline of 1-2 to 0-4.
The second half started with Miltown performing strongly with early points from Josh Flynn and Evan O'Loughlin. Miltown extended their lead with a well taken goal from Josh Flynn however Clann Lir responded with a number of points of their own. Miltown continued to extend their lead with an excellent finish to the net from Evan O'Loughlin quickly followed by a point by Josh Flynn. Miltown led by a solitary point as the game drew to a close however a long range goal from Clann Lir pushed them two points clear in injury time. An Evan O'Loughlin point reduced the deficit to the minimum but Clann Lir had the final say with the last point ensuring they prevailed on a scoreline of 2-9 to 2-7.
