Our seniors maintained their unbeaten run on Sunday and advanced to the quarter final stage with victory over Cooraclare in Quilty in their final group game.
In difficult weather conditions, Miltown raced into a quick lead with early goals from the fist of Darragh McDonagh and the right leg of Conor Cleary while points from Cormac Murray ensured they led at the break on a scoreline of 2-3 to 0-4.
Cooraclare reduced the deficit in the 3rd quarter before a fine Seán O’Brien save coupled with a well taken Darragh McDonagh point meant Miltown led by 2-4 to 0-6 at the final water break. Miltown finished strongly and an powerful finish from Cormac Murray stretched their lead and ensured they emerged as victors on a score line of 3-6 to 0-7.
