Our juniors qualified for the Junior A quarter final tonight with a victory over Lissycasey

The juniors started well with a well taken point from David Talty before Ger Malone extended their lead. Lissycasey fought back and led at the first water break. Lissycasey performed strongly in the 2nd quarter and despite points from Ger Malone and Gary Egan, Miltown trailed on a scoreline of 0-8 to 0-4 at half time.

Donal Keane opened the scoring in the 2nd half however Lissycasey fought back with two points to extend their lead to five points. Miltown displayed a never say die attitude and points from Damien Devereaux, Paul Keane, Ger Malone and Des Molohan ensured the sides were level as the game entered injury time. In the final stages, Miltown were awarded a penalty when Bryan O Loughlin was fouled in the small square. The evergreen Des Molohan sent the Lisscasey goalkeeper the wrong way and dispatched the penalty to the corner of the net, ensuring that Miltown prevailed on a scoreline of 1-11 to 0-11.

Miltown lined out as follows: Mark Cunningham; Cormac Devitt, Martin Rynne, Darragh Lynch; Cillian O'Malley, Gearoid Burke (captain), Cormac Byrne; Gary Egan and Noel Casey; Damien Devereaux, John Jimmy Meade, Conall Meade; Ger Malone, Colm Haugh, David Talty. Subs: Donal Keane, Bryan O Loughlin, Paul Keane, Des Molohan, Michael Barry

Well done to all involved.
