Our seniors commenced their senior championship campaign earlier tonight in Cusack Park vs near neighbours KIB.
The game opened as a cagey affair while Miltown spurned three goal chances in the first quarter before KIB had a goal disallowed for a square ball. This ensured that KIB led at the first water break on a scoreline of 0-1 to 0-0. Points from frees from Eoin Cleary and Cormac Murray ensured Miltown stayed in touch and entered half time trailing on a scoreline of 0-4 to 0-2.
Miltown started the 2nd half well with Oisin Looney fisting to the net after a great run by Eoin Cleary for the game's first goal. This was quickly followed by two points from Kieran Malone before KIB scored their first goal from the penalty spot. This was quickly followed by a point from Cormac Murray as injury time began. The drama was not finished however as KIB scrambled to the net after high ball into the square which ensured the match finished level on a scoreline of 2-7 each.
