Our seniors kept their unbeaten Cusack Cup record today with victory over Kildysart.
Early points from Sean Malone and Brian Curtin, Oisin Looney put Miltown in the lead before three unanswered saw Kildysart hit the front playing with the aid of a breeze. Darragh McDonagh then struck for his sides first goal after rounding the Kildysart goalkeeper. Further points from Kieran Malone and Sean Malone ensured Miltown led at the break on a scoreline of 1-7 to 0-6.
Early points from Sean Malone and Darragh McDonagh meant Miltown started well before a Kildysart goal narrowed the deficit. A point from Joe Carmody at the end of a well worked move was quicky followed by a Kildysart point which ensured that Miltown led by 4 at the final water break. A cagey 4th quarter began before Aidan McGuane scored a classy point to extend Miltowns lead. Kieran Malone and Kevin Keavey extended Miltown's lead before Seanie Malone finished powerfully to the net from the penalty spot for the game's final score, ensuring that Miltown prevailed on a scoreline of 2-14 to 1-7.
