It was with great sadness and shock that all in St. Josephs Miltown Malbay GAA and the wider community learned of the sudden passing of Eoin Haugh last Friday.
Eoin played at all grades at underage for the club and won a league medal with the Junior team at adult level along with an u-21 'B' title in 1997.
Eoin also served the club in many roles never having to be asked a second time to help at any task. He served as a selector to teams, was a most reliable lotto rota seller and as commented by players in recent days, a great motivator to players on a quiet 1:1 level regardless of good times or bad on the playing field.
Eoin's presence will be sadly missed at the GAA pitch and games going forward. He was a vocal supporter who backed Miltown always while maintaining a wide circle of friends with all opposition teams.
As a mark of respect, the club will hold a guard of honour outside the church after Eoin's funeral mass on Wednesday. People are asked to gather at 1:45pm to pay our final respects. Please obey social distancing measures during guard of honour and wear club colours as Eoin so often did.
As a club, we extended our sympathies to Kathleen, Colm, Honor and all Eoin's extended family.
