Miltown advanced to the next stage of the senior championship tonight with victory over Cooraclare in Kilmhil.

Played in tough weather conditions, Cooraclare started well however Miltown regained composure and took the lead with points from Eoin Cleary, Cormac Murray and Ger Malone. Shortly after a torrential rain storm, Cormac Murray struck for his first goal with a well taken finish to the corner of the net. Miltown led at the break on a scoreline of 1-6 to 0-2.

Miltown continued to stay in the lead and Cormac Murray struck for his second goal with a powerful finish to the net. Points from Eoin Cleary and Cormac Murray ensured Miltown led at the water break on a scoreline of 2-9 to 1-4, despite a Cooraclare goal from the penalty spot. Fine points from Conor Cleary, Kevin Keavey, Oisin Looney and Eoin Cleary, together with a Euan Reidy goal at the end of a well worked team move saw Miltown prevail on a scoreline of 3-14 to 1-5.
