Yesterday saw our juniors kick off their championship campaign. Our junior side put up a battling display in Cooraclare on Sunday against a very strong Ennistymon side. The first half was a tight affair with Ennistymon having more chances but good defence from the Miltown side restricted them to 1-6, while our only score in the half was a well worked goal finished by Brian O’Loughlin.

Miltown had plenty of possession in the second half but found scoring chances hard to come by - our solitary converted effort from a free. Ennistymon went on to score 3 more points and a goal very near the end, running out as winners on a score line of 2-9 to 1-1. All eyes are now on tonight’s draw to see who the juniors will face next.

Miltown lined out as follows: Paul Tubridy; Gearoid Burke, Marty Rynne, Tadhg Flynn; Cormac Byrne, Shane Curtin (c) Cian Flanagan; Paraic Murray and John Meade; Cillian O’Malley, Michael Barry, Colin McGuane; Brian O’Loughlin, Declan Rynne, Noel Casey

Subs: Darragh Lynch for T.Flynn, Conor McKenna for D.Rynne, Donal Keane for P.Murray, Conor Sexton for John Jimmy, Michael Hehir for C.McKenna
