Our u14 team had their second championship match this evening when they faced off against Kilrush/Killimer in Hennessy Memorial Park.

The physically strong Kilrush/ Killimer team started well and had a number of goals scored before the first water break with Darragh Hogan scoring a solitary point for Miltown. Miltown struck back when Darragh Hogan scored a long range goal and further points. The u14s continued to battle hard as half time approached with Dominic Griffin finishing well to the net to reduce the deficit.

The youthful Miltown side kept battling in the second half with Dominic Griffin getting his second goal of the game and further points from Darragh Hogan and Gavin Toomey. Despite trailing, Miltown kept going until the end and never dropped their heads with all available panel members getting game time.

Miltown lined out as follows: Colin Hayes; Podge Devereaux, Niall Toomey, Sean McMahon; Tony Carroll, Ralph Whelehan, James Downes; Iarla Meade and Gavin Toomey; Conor Neylon, Darragh Hogan, Ronan Keavey; Eoin Hogan, Dominic Griffin (captain), Cian Cunningham. Sub: Flynn McDowell

Miltown face Clondegad in their final group game away in two weeks time.
