Confusion reigns after the minors opening championship match last night away to Doonbeg. Despite both sides agreeing on a scoreline of 1-13 to 2-10, the match referee had Doonbeg winning by a solitary point on his offical score card.

A good attacking performance from Miltown saw a variety of scorers with impressive points from play by Cian Mahony, Harry Boyd, Ben Whelehan, Euan Lineen and Paul Keane with Sean McMahon scoring a number of frees. Cian Mahony struck for his sides only goal at the end of a well worked move. Miltown finished strongly despite losing Cian Mahony to a second yellow as the game drew to a close.

Miltown lined out as follows: Andrew Skerrit; Adam Burke, Cormac Devitt, Eoghan Cleary; Cillian Keavey, Damien Devereaux, Paul Frawley; Harry Boyd and Cian Mahony (c); Paul Keane, Ben Whelahan, Seàn McMahon; Euan Lineen, Gavin Burke, Conal Meade. Subs introduced; Seàn Neylon, Diarmuid O’Sullivan, Cormac Byrne.
