Our seniors started their Cusack Cup campaign today in horrible weather conditions at Hennessy Memorial Park against KIB. Playing against a strong wind, Miltown started well but were unable to open their scoring account. KIB finished the first half the stronger and led at the break on a scoreline of 0-7 to no score.
KIB struck first in the second half when they opened the scoring with a goal. Miltown tried to close the deficit with points from Ger Malone, Seanie Malone and Cormac Murray. A late flurry of red cards saw both sides finish with 13 men and KIB emerge victorious on a scoreline of 1-7 to 0-3. Miltown will hope for a much improved performance when they host Ennistymon on the weekend of March 28th/29th.
