Last Sunday saw our Seniors bow out of the Munster club championship with a two point loss to Clonmel Commercials.

Miltown started well at Hennessy Memorial Park with early points from Oisin Looney, Conor Cleary and Gordon Kelly. Further points from Eoin Cleary, Conor Cleary and Graham Kelly in an impressive first half display ensured Miltown led at the break on a scoreline 0-6 to 0-2 at half time.

Playing with the aid of a strong breeze Clonmel closed the gap however a Conor Cleary point ensured Miltown led by the minimum with five minutes to play. Unfortunately Clonmel finished strong with the final four points of the game including two in the six minutes of additional time ensured they prevailed on a scoreline of 0-9 to 0-7.

Miltown lined out as follows: Sean O Brien; Seanie Malone, Gordon Kelly, Enda O Gorman; Gearoid Curtin, Tayto, Aidan McGuane; Conor Cleary and Oisin Looney; Kieran Malone, Eoin Cleary, Micheal Murray; Brian Curtin, Graham Kelly, Cormac Murray. Subs: Euan Reidy, Jamesie O'Connor, Ger Malone.

Scorers were: Conor Cleary 0-3, Graham Kelly, Gordon Kelly, Oisin Looney and Eoin Cleary 0-1 each.

Sunday's defeat marks the end of a good 2019 for our Seniors which saw them win the Brian Casey memorial 7 a side tournament and Cusack Cup while also capturing the Clare Senior football championship.
