Our Seniors advanced to the semi final tonight after a hard fought victory over Lissycasey in Cooraclare.
Miltown started well with early points from Eoin Cleary, Darragh McDonagh, Cormac Murray and Conor Cleary while a strong defensive performance kept Lissycasey scoreless as the half time drew close. In the final stages of the first half, Lissycasey were awarded a penalty which they dispatched to the net. Miltown rallied with a Eoin Cleary point and led at the break on a scoreline of 0-8 to 1-0 after playing with the aid of a strong breeze.
Weather conditions worsened at half time and Lissycasey narrowed the gap to three as the game entered the final ten minutes. Cormac Murray and Eoin Cleary traded points with Lissycasey before Graham Kelly kicked the insurance point for Miltown as they ran out winners on a scoreline of 0-12 to 1-5.
Miltown enter their fifth consecutive semi final draw where either KIB, Cratloe or the winners of Eire Og & Doonbeg await in two weeks time.
