The u14s continued their winning ways with an impressive display against KIB this evening in Mullagh.
Miltown started well playing with a strong breeze and scored early points from Caimin Jones and Patrick Greene. The KIB goalie made a number of key saves before Darragh Hogan found the back of the net. Further well taken points from John Maloney, Cormac O'Loughlin, Sean Hayes and Finlay Robertson pushed Miltown further into the lead. A goal each from Patrick Greene and Dominic Griffin ensured Miltown led at the break on a scoreline of 3-9 to 0-1.
KIB started the second half well with the aid of the wind and scored an early goal. Miltown responded immediately with a expertly finished goal from Finlay Robertson. The sides continued to swap goals with Stephen Murphy finishing to the net for Miltown. An impressive attacking performance saw further goals scored by Darragh Hogan, Sean Hayes and Stephen Murphy pushed Miltown further into the lead. KIB continued to try hard and struck to the back of Miltown's net despite a excellent display from Colin Hayes and the Miltown defence. As the game drew to a close, Cormac O'Loughlin and Finlay Robertson finished well to the back of the KIB net and Miltown ran out deserving winners on a scoreline of 12-12 to 5-4.
Miltown, under the management team of Declan Keavey, Cathal O'Loughlin, Maurice Reidy and David Talty, enter their final two group games with every chance of reaching the knockout stages after their two recent wins.
