Our u14s got their championship campaign back on track this evening with an impressive performance against Clarecastle in Hennessy Memorial Park.

Miltown started well with an early Darragh Hogan goal which was quickly followed by a John Maloney point. Clarecastle rallied and powered into the lead while points from Patrick Greene and Sean Hayes ensuring Miltown trailed at half time on a score line of 1-4 to 1-7.

An early long range Finlay Robertson goal, points from Patrick Greene & Cormac O'Loughlin and an excellent Colin Hayes save ensured the sides were level as the game entered the final quarter. A fisted goal from Finlay Robertson and a long range point from the impressive Ralph Whelehan ensured Miltown stormed into the lead. A strong defensive second half display led by full back Cormac Byrne together with a well taken Patrick Greene goal after good work from Kian Cunningham ensured Miltown ran out winners on a scoreline of 4-7 to 1-11.

The young Miltown panel all saw game time with the subs all making the desired positive impact from the bench. Next up for the u14s is a match against near neighbours KIB next week.
