Our u14s started their championship campaign this evening away to Eire Og.
Miltown started well however they spurned a number of goals chances finding the Eire og goalkeeper in good form while also rattling the the crossbar. Eire Og struck for two quick fire goals against the run of play however Miltown struck back with well taken goals from Caimin Jones, Cormac O Loughlin and Darragh Hogan. Further points from Gavin Toomey, Patrick Greene and Finlay Robertson ensured Miltown went into the lead however a further Eire Og goal ensured the sides entered level on a score line of 3-4 a piece.
Miltown lost midfielder Patrick Greene to injury at half time and started the second half poorly with Eire Og striking for three quick fire goals. The youthful Miltown side kept battling and a number well taken points from Finlay and Caimin ensured they kept in touch. Our u14s were unable to find the elusive goals in the second half with Eire Og emerging victorious on a score line of 6-6 to 3-9.
