Our Seniors got their Cusack Cup campaign back on track this afternoon with a fifteen point victory over Cooraclare in Miltown this afternoon.
Miltown started well with early points from Cormac and Micheal Murray however Cooraclare stayed in touch due to some wasteful shooting from Miltown. Halfway through the 1st half, Cormac Murray palmed to the net at the end of a well worked move involving Gordon & Graham Kelly. A late Cooraclare goal reduced the deficit and following a Gearoid Curtin point, the sides entered the break tied at 1-6 each.
Our Seniors started the second half well with points from Eoin Cleary, Aidan McGuane, Graham Kelly. Cormac struck for his second goal as he expertly finished to the net after an excellent through ball from Eoin Cleary. Further points from Ger Malone, Eoin Cleary and Cormac Murray ensured Miltown eased out as winners on a scoreline of 2-18 to 1-6. An excellent 2nd half defensive performance from the back line held Cooraclare scoreless during the entire second half.
