Our Senior team commenced their Cusack Cup campaign with a three point victory over near neighbours KIB today.
Playing with the aid of strong game towards the town goals at Hennessy Memorial Park, it took Miltown a while to find their feet. However impressive points from Cormac Murray and Graham Kelly ensured Miltown led at the break on a scoreline of 0-7 to 0-1.
Against the gale force breeze in the second half, Miltown gave a disciplined second half defensive display limiting their opponents to three points. Despite being reduced to 14 men with a late second yellow card for Graham Kelly, Miltown powered home to win in a scoreline of 0-7 to 0-4.
