Our u16s have continued their winning ways with a six point victory over the Banner today in Miltown.
With Miltown playing with the elements in the first half, the sides traded scores before a well taken goal finished by Conal Meade and further points ensured our u16s led by 1-8 to 1-1 at the break.
In what was an exceptionally physical battle in the second half, Miltown's second goal proved decisive. With an attacker from the Banner bearing down on goal, a strong shoulder from Callum Curtin dispossessed the attacker and began a great team move which saw 7 Miltown players work the ball together the entire length of the field before Sean McMahon finished to the net. A late consolation goal for the Banner ensured Miltown ran out of victors on a scoreline of 2-9 to 2-3. Miltown will be very pleased with their strong second half defensive display which with tenacious tackling limited the opposition to scoring 1-2 playing with a strong breeze.
