Miltown’s u13s brought their 2018 football season to an end on Wednesday night under lights in Hennessy Memorial Park with a two point loss against Doonbeg in the West Clare final.
In a very exciting game, Miltown led for long periods before a very fortuitous goal for Doonbeg near the end of the second half sealed their fate.
The game was played with high intensity and some lovely football from both teams made it a very entertaining evening for the crowd in attendance. The game finished on a score-line of 5-4 to 3-8.
Miltown’s panel was: Colin Hayes, Cormac Byrne (captain), Niall Twomey, Ralph Whelehan, Gerry Meade, Patrick Greene, Tim Lenihan, Sean Hayes, John Moloney, Cormac O’Loughlin, Darragh Hogan, Ronan Keavey, Caimin Jones, Dominic Griffin, Jake Donnellan, Darragh Foran, Cian Cunningham, Gavin Twomey, James Downes, Tony Carroll, Stephen Murphy, Eoin Devanney, Iarla Meade.
Hard luck to all involved, both players and management.
Based on their performances throughout the year, at under 12, under 13 and under 14 level, a bright future is in store for these underage players should they continue to work hard and progress.
