Our Juniors were defeated this evening by Meelick in the Junior A Relegation Semi-final on a scoreline of 5-8 to 0-8

Miltown started well and raced into an early two point lead. However Meelick struck back with a number of fortuitous goals which altered the complexion of the game. Unfortunately our Juniors found the Meelick goal impossible to penetrate with a missed penalty and a number of spurned goal chances meaning at the break Miltown trailed on a score-line of 3-1 to 0-4.

Playing against the breeze in the second half it was always going to be an uphill battle and that’s how it proved with Meelick easing to a 5-8 to 0-8 victory. Miltown tried hard and scored a number of well-taken points however they were unable to find the elusive goals.

Next up is a relegation final which our Juniors must win to retain their Junior A status. Fixture details to be finalised in the coming weeks.

Miltown lined out as follows: Paul Tubridy; Cormac Byrne, Michael Talty, Gearoid Burke; Ian Sexton, Sean Meade, Padraic Murray; John Jimmy & Ronan Meade; Darragh Flynn, Gary Egan, Liam Gray; Sean Clancy, Micheal Murray, Enda Fox. Subs: Zac Whelehan, Conor Sexton, Cian Flanagan, Creeko & Heff.
