Our minor side got their championship campaign back on track last night with an impressive win over a very strong Banner side in Ennis.

The first half was a very tight affair with scores hard to come by for both sides. A Euan Reidy goal expertly finished to the net after good work by Oisin Looney gave our lads a great boost however a goal from the penalty spot brought the Banner back into the game. Thankfully a superb save from John Curtin allied with a late Oisin Looney penalty ensured Miltown led 2-3 to 1-2 at the break.

The second half was again a tight affair with Miltown building on their first half performance and increasing the distance between the sides with some fine points from a number of players. The Banner increased the pressure as the game drew to a close as they sought to reel in the six point gap, however superb defending and tackling from the Miltown side ensured a fine victory.

Miltown lined out as follows: John Curtin; Tadhg Flynn, Podge Devitt, Damien Devereaux; Cian Flanagan, Cillian O’Malley, Evan Crowley; Micheal Murray & Oisin Looney; Ronan Meade, Liam Hehir, Jack Downes; Jason Griffin, Euan Reidy, Cian Mahony; Subs: Saul Boyd, Harry Boyd, Paul Keane, Gerry Byrne, Mark Cunningham, Gavin Burke, Darragh Flynn, Ben Whelehan.
