Our u21s bowed out of the u21 A Championship this evening at the quarter final stage following a 5-12 to 1-11 defeat against a fancied St Joseph’s Doora/Barefield team.

In what was an even close first half, Miltown conceded a goal against the run of play and trailed by one point at the break on a scoreline of 1-6 to 0-8.

Doora Barefield showed the benefit of having a preliminary round game under the belt already as they struck for four second half goals in quick succession. The youthful Miltown side battled right to the final whistle with Colin Hehir expertly finishing to the net at the end of a powerful run as the game drew to a close.

Miltown lined out as  follows: Paul Tubridy; Saul Boyd, Gearoid Burke, Euan Reidy; Jamesie O’Connor, Micheal Murray, Cillian O’Malley; Colin Hehir & Zac Whelehan; Liam Hehir, Joe Carmody, Darragh Flynn; Sean Clancy, Cormac Murray, Jason Griffin. Subs: Ronan Meade, Padraic Murray & Padraic Devitt.

Scorers were: Cormac Murray 0-6; Colin Hehir 1-1 and Liam Hehir, Micheal Murray, Sean Clancy & Zac Whelehan with 0-1 each.
