This evening at Hennessy Memorial Park, our seniors beat O’Currys in the latest round of the O’Gorman Cup on a scoreline of 5-9 to 1-3.
An impressive first half started well as Joe Curtin smashed the ball to the net for Miltown’s opening goal at the end of a well worked move. Following this, Cormac Murray struck for two goals in quick succession, one which was an accurate soccer style finish which would not be out of place at the World Cup in Russia. Miltown continued this impressive attacking display as Brian Curtin scored another goal at the end of a rampaging run through the O’Currys defence. At half time, Miltown lead on a scoreline of 4-5 to 0-3.
Miltown started the second half well scoring another goal, as John Jimmy found himself at the end of another impressive move and expertly finished to the net. The youthful Miltown side continued their dominance as the second half drew to a close and eased to a eighteen point victory.
