A youthful Miltown Senior side suffered a six point reversal to St.Breckans in Hennessy Memorial Park on Friday evening in the latest round of the Cusack Cup.
The visitors got off to a good start with a goal after five minutes, Miltown playing with the aid of the breeze responded well with a two pointer from David Barry and a point from Euan Lineen bringing the teams level after nine minutes. St. Breckans hit Miltown for 4 points on the trot before a massive two point free from Euan Lineen closed the gap. Euan repeated the performance with another two point effort towards the end of the half to level matters. Breckans kicked on again and established a two point lead before Paul Frawley struck for Miltowns fourth two pointer of the half to leave the half time score Miltown 0-09 St.Breckans 1-06
The visitors struck for two goals in a couple of minutes in the second half before a 45 from Paul Frawley got the Miltown scoreboard ticking after 15 minutes. A Euan Lineen free after 16 minutes cut the deficit to six with eight minutes remaining and despite battling gamely Miltown were only able to add a further Euan Lineen free to their tally as St.Breckans ran out winners on a scoreline of 3-0-9 to 0-12.
