U16s Championship vs Clarecastle - match report
The recent unbeaten run of our young u16 team came to a halt this evening in an evenly contested match away to Clarecastle.
An impressive first half with some fine point taking and a well finished goal by Diarmuid O'Sullivan saw Miltown lead by three at the break.
However, Clarecastle came out strong in the second half and Miltown's lead was reduced to a point with 5 mins to go before Clarecastle scoring a late goal to take the lead.
The physically strong Clarecastle side scored another point in injury time which extended their lead to three points which is how it finished.
Our U16s are still very much in the hunt for a spot in the knockout stages and a win against Wolfe Tones next week should ensure they make it through.
Miltown lined out as follows: Sean Curtin; Rhys Whelehan, Niall Downes, Adam Burke; Cormac Devitt, Damien Devereaux, Callum Curtin; Cian O'Mahony & Harry Boyd; Conall Meade, Gavin Burke, Gerry Byrne; Euan Lineen, Paul Keane, Eanna O'Connor. Sub: Diarmuid O'Sullivan.
