Our Seniors succumbed to a one point defeat away to Cooraclare last evening in the latest round of the Cusack Cup on a scoreline of 2-9 to 1-13. An impressive first half together with a well worked goal finished by Eoin Cleary saw Miltown lead 1-6 to 0-5 at the break. Miltown lead for most of the second half, with a second goal coming from Darragh McDoangh. However Cooraclare edged their way back into it following the dismissal of Kieran Malone late in the second half and took the lead with an injury time free. A late attempt from Eoin Cleary from 50m ultimately hit the post and crossbar before bouncing clear and saw our seniors fall to their third defeat of the campaign so far.

Miltown lined out as follows: Sean O'Brien; David Talty, Seanie Malone, Euan Reidy; Micheal Murray, Tayto, Jamesie O'Connor; Darragh McDonagh & Oisin Looney; Ger Malone, Kieran Malone, Joe Curtin; Sean Malone, Eoin Cleary, Cormac Murray. Subs: Kevin Keavey, Colin Hehir, Shane Curtin, Graham Kelly and Cormac Byrne.

Scorers included Eoin Cleary 1-5, Darragh McDonagh 1-0, Kieran Malone 0-2 and Sean Malone & Cormac Murray 0-1 each.

Next up is Clondegad in Miltown next Sunday.
