It certainly proved to be a game of two halves at Hennessy Memorial Park on Thursday evening asMiltown welcomed Ennistymon for the latest round of the 2026 Cusack Cup. 

The visitors established dominance on the pitch and on the scorline in the first half as miltown battled hard to stay with their opponents . Ennistymon had built a lead of 2-3 to 0-0 before Cian Mahony with a two point effort quickly followed by a Paul Frawley point finally got Miltown on the scoreboard after 26 minutes. Ennstymon replied with 1-1 of their own before half time to leave it Ennistymon 3-4 to Miltowns 0-3 at the break.

Whatever was said in the home dressing room was certainly effective as Miltown returned to the pitch a very different animal. A Paul Frawley goal and a Cian Mahony point got things moving before Euan Lineen struck for Miltowns second goal of the game , Cian Mahony added a point to the Miltown total before Ennstymon finally got off the mark with three points of their own to leave four  between the sides with thirteen gone. The impressive Euan Lineen struck for his second and Miltowns third goal with a cracking finish to leave the minimum between the side as the game really heated up.

Cian Mahony levelled things up with a super point before Euan Lineen gave Miltown the lead for the first time in the game with a point of his own with five minutes remaining. Darragh McDonagh rounded off a superb second half performance with a fourth goal as Miltown ran out winners by 4-08 to 3-07
