Division 4 League vs KIB - Match Report
Our Juniors continued their impressive form with a one point victory over KIB this morning in Miltown on a scoreline of 2-4 to 1-6.
The match played in tough weather conditions was tight in the first half with Miltown leading at the break 1-3 to 0-3 following an well worked goal finished by Colm Haugh after a great run from Diarmuid Meade.
On his return to the Miltown colours, Enda Fox neatly finished a goal early in the second half which stretched Miltown's advantage to 6 points however a late rally by KIB coupled with an injury time goal meant for a tense finish.
Miltown lined out as follows: Paul Tubridy; Cormac Byrne, Donal Keane, Gearoid Burke; Liam Gray, Ian Sexton, Jamesie O'Connor; Micheal Murray & John Jimmy; Oisin Looney, Diarmuid Meade, Sean Clancy; Sean Malone, Gerard Malone, Colm Haugh. Subs: Creeko, Enda Fox, David Meade and Padraic Murray.
Scorers were: Colm Haugh & Enda Fox with 1 goal each, Gerard Malone 0-2 and Diarmuid Meade & Oisin Looney 0-1 each.
Prior to the game, both teams observed a minutes silence in memory of Paul Rynne of Glendine, Miltown Malbay who died tragically recently in London. Paul, a brother of current Senior and Junior panel member Martin, represented Miltown at all underage levels following in the footsteps of all of his elder siblings.
