Our senior team lost to St Breckans yesterday evening in round 3 of the Cusack Cup. The match, played on an extremely soft pitch in Lisdoonvarna, finished on a scoreline of 0-8 to 1-9.

The match was well poised at half time as St Breckans lead by a point, 1-4 to 0-6 with Seanie Malone having converted a point from a 25th minute penalty.

However a wasteful second half saw Miltown only convert two points in the second half as St Breckans powered to a four point victory.

Miltown lined out as follows: Sean O'Brien; Euan Reidy, Seanie Malone, David Talty; Jamesie O'Connor, Tayto, Micheal Murray; Darragh McDonagh & Gerard Malone; Liam Gray, Eoin Cleary, Cormac Byrne; Joe Curtin, Cormac Murray, Diarmuid Meade. Subs were Kevin Keavey, Sean Malone, Gearoid Burke and Martin Rynne.

Scorers for Miltown were: Gerard Malone & Eoin Cleary 0-2 each, plus Cormac Murray, Seanie Malone, Diarmuid Meade and Jamesie O'Connor with a point each.

Next up for our seniors is a vital Cusack cup game against Doonbeg in Miltown next weekend.
