Miltown got their 2025 Cusack Cup up and running with an entertaining draw against St.Josephs Doora Barefield under lights at Hennessy Memorial Park on Friday evening.
Miltown opend the scoring with a point from Micheal Murray followed by the first competitive 2 pointer at Hennessy Memorial Park from the  boot of Cian Mahony, a further point from the lively Eoin Devenney increased the home sides lead to 2 points before another 2 pointer from Cian Mahony gave Miltown a four point lead mid way through the first half. The visitors soon found their shooting boots and rattled off three points to leave the half time score 0-6 to 0-5 in favour of Miltown with both sides having also squandered a few goal scoring opportunities.

An Eoin Devenney free got Miltown up and running for the second half before 2 Doora Barefield points levelled matters up as there was very little between the sides. Cian mahony restored Miltowns lead and a fine finish from Ralph Whelehan extended the lead to 2 points as the 3rd quarter moved on. Two points from the visitors restored parity and both side battled gainfully to get the upper hand. Points from Paul Frawley & Sean Neylon gave Miltown a 2 point lead as the final whistle drew near , however Doora Barefild refused to lie down scoring the final 2 points to leave the sides level as the final whistle blew.
