Miltown 0-10  Cratloe 2-9

Our Senior side suffered defeat to 2023 County Champions Cratloe in round one of the 2024 Senior football championship in a game played in the unfamiliar surroundings of Clarecastle on Friday evening. 
Miltown started the game brightly and points from Sean Neylon & Kieran Malone gave them an early lead. Cratloe worked their way level and a goal after 17 minutes gave them a three point lead. The sides traded scores for the remainder of the half with Miltown's scores  coming from Kieran Malone, Euan Lineen, Cormac Murray, and a long range effort from Cian Mahony.As the half time whistle blew Cratloe held the lead on a scoreline of 1-6 to 0-6.
Miltown again started the half brightly and started to reel in the Cratloe lead with two points from Cormac Murray. Cratloe then scored 1-1 in the space of a few minutes to establish a five point lead as the Miltown wide's began build up. Another Kieran Malone point reduced the arrears to four points , but unfortunately the next two points fell the way of the Cratloe men who now held a six point advantage as the game went into the last few minutes. Miltown placed the Cratloe defense under huge pressure in search of a goal but only had a pointed free from Cian Mahony to show for their efforts. The final whistle saw Cratloe emerge victorious by 2-9 to 0-10.
