Miltown 2-7 Kilrush Shamrocks 1-9
Our Junior side rounded off their division 5 league campaign with a victory over Kilrush in a game played in good conditions in Kilrush on Friday evening. Miltown dominated the early exchanges and kept the scoreboard ticking over nicely for the first half as the home side struggled to come to term with Miltowns strong defensive display. A goal and a point from centre forward Brian O'Loughlin allied to points fom Ger malone (2), Cillian Keavey & Cormac Byrne gave Miltown a half time lead of 1-5 to 0-2.
The home side upped their performance in the second half and the Miltown defence found themselves under a lot more pressure as Kilrush began to chip away at the lead. Miltown however done enough to maintain their advantage and a second goal from Brian O'Loughlin added to points from Diarmaid O'Sullivan & Caimin Jones ensured victory for our lads by the slenderest of scores.
