Division 7 league
Miltown 0-8 Lissycasey 0-4
Our junior B side continued their push for promotion from Division 7 when they ground out a tough victory over Lissycasey on Saturday evening. The first half was a dour affair with both sides struggling for continuity and dominance. Playing against a noticeable breeze Miltown were slow to settle and found themselves down by three points to one after 20 minutes with Miltown point coming from a Gary Egan free. The final 10 minutes of the half saw Miltown begin to get into gear and another Gary Egan free and a John Forson point from play saw the side go in at half time level on three points a piece.
The second half saw Miltown begin to exert a lot more pressure on the home side with some fine flowing moves, scores were still however at a premium as both side struggled to get into a scoring rhythm. The Miltown defence kept a stranglehold on the home attack restricting them to a point over the thirty minutes while three more points from centre forward Gary Egan and a point from Noel McGuane saw Miltown run out winners by four points.
Attention now moves on to a home clash with table toppers Parteen/Meelick on Tuesday week.
