Miltown 1-11 Corofin 3-12

Miltown travelled to corofin on Sunday for a Division 5 League clash against the home side. Corofin made a blistering start and had 2-2 on the scoreboard after 5 minutes before Euan Lineen opened the Miltown account. After the early Corofin goals miltown settled well to their task and the remainder of the half was a hard-fought affair with both sided trading scores with Miltowns points coming from Euan Lineen (0-2), Cillian Keavey (0-2) Oisin Meade (0-1), Sean Malone (0-1) and Diarmaid O’Sullivan (0-1). A Euan Lineen goal after a strong solo run gave Miltown hope for the second half as they trailed on a scoreline of 2-8 to 1-7 at half time.

The second half proved tight affair with both defences keeping scoring chances to a premium, a Corofin goal after seven minutes proved to be the decisive score of the half as despite a strong showing from Miltown they were unable to reel in the home side. Miltown scored four points in the second half from Sean Malone (0-1), Ger Malone (0-1), Euan Lineen (0-1) & Sean Hayes.
