Miltown 6-14   Moy 3-2.

Miltown continued their good form in division 7 with an impressive victory over near neighbours Moy in Hennessy Memorial Park in ideal conditions on Saturday evening.

The early stages of the first half saw the visitors begin well and an early goal was ample rewards for the dominance. After that however Miltown began to gain the upper hand and put the Moy defence under severe pressure for long periods with Miltowns midfield pairing of Sean Meade & Colm Haugh winning the kick out battle. Points from Conor McKenna (0-4), Tommy Flynn (0-2), Gary Egan (0-2) and an exquisitely finished goal from Eanna O’Connor gave Miltown a healthy lead as the half wore on. Moy however fought back strongly and two well taken goals before half time sent the teams to the dressing rooms level on a scoreline of 1-8 to 3-2.

Miltown upped the ante for the second half and began to dominate all aspects of the game particularly on the scoreboard. Gary Egan led the scoring charge with an impressive 3-4 including a beautifully chipped goal from 35yards after claiming a Moy kick out. Eanna O’Connor doubled his goal tally and debutant Eugene Byrne also found the back of the net. Additional points from Joe O’Reilly & Eugene Byrne gave Miltown a healthy lead while a miserly  well-disciplined defence kept the visitors scoreless for the second half.
