Miltown 1-7 Ennistymon 2-6

Our junior side made the short journey to Lahinch on Monday evening and unfortunately returned empty handed after a close fought defeat to a strong Ennistymon side. The first half was a tight affair as both sides enjoyed periods of dominance and kept the score board ticking over. Miltown enjoyed a 2 point lead as half time approached after scores from Ronan Keavey (0-2), Diarmaid O’Sullivan (0-2) & Cillian Keavey (0-1), however the home side finished the half strongly and the teams headed for the dressing rooms level at 0-5 apiece.

Ennistymon started the second half well and had two goals on the scoreboard within the first 10 minutes to leave Miltown with a lot of work to do. Our lads stuck to their guns and 2 points from Diarmaid O’Sullivan reduced the lead, Ennistymon adding a point to their total as the half wore on.  A great goal strike from substitute Eanna O’Connor gave Miltown hope as the game drew to a close ,but the homeside clung on despite massive Miltown pressure to emerge victors on a scoreline of Miltown 1-7 Ennistymon 2-6
